The Business Event of the Year started off with a bang in 2011. Narellan, Camden, Campbelltown and Liverpool Local Chambers of Commerce as well as the BEC created the concept of the BEOTY as an opportunity to bring high profile speakers to the local businesses community on one evening in July instead of each Chamber hosting their regular monthly meeting. It was a forum where everyone could attend, get to know each other, network and learn something from the guest speaker that they could bring back to their business as a business owner or employee. This concept proved to be a great success, inspiring many businesses to be involved and the BEOTY was born, with each year gaining more momentum with guest speakers including Tom O’Toole, Peter FitzSimons, Mark Bouris, Michelle Bridges, Jamie Durie, Craig Rispin, Kieran Perkins and Angus Kennard..
Over the years the invitation was extended to include Ingleburn, Picton and Appin Chambers of Commerce. Today the BEOTY has become its own entity being incorporated as an Association with members including Campbelltown, Greater Narellan, Liverpool, Picton Local Chambers of Commerce and the South West BEC.
2017 will bring us Alan Jones A.O as the guest speaker and this year, for the first time, the BEOTY will also include the Macarthur Business Awards where our local businesses and business people will have the opportunity to be recognised for their contribution and success.
